The Sublet by Greer Hendricks
This was a chilling short story! An author, Melody Wells, takes her need for perfection a little too far. She hires Anne as a ghostwriter. Out of desperation, Anne takes the job and sublets an apartment, at Melody’s recommendation.
As unsettling things happen, Anne begins to piece together a mystery that terrifies her. She notices that things are not what they seem, and she begins to not trust herself or her perception of things.
This one was interesting but fell a little flat. For instance, the children were there, then they weren’t, and when they came back, they still weren’t active in the story. I guess I just wanted more loose ends tied up. Overall it was okay. 3/5⭐
