A Novel Love Story
A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston
It’s unique when a literature professor finds herself caught in a story. This story is heartwarming and takes romance from a different perspective.
Elsy gets left at the altar and desperately needs the pick-me-up of her annual book club retreat. She’s looking forward to it and even goes when no one else can.
Life smacks her when her car breaks down and she is stranded int the middle of her favorite romance series, Eloraton. In this place, everything is just as it was written, perfect except, it’s frozen right where the author left off.
There’s one character out of place, the charming yet grumpy bookstore owner. As she gets intertwined in the town. Elsy wonders if her happy-ever-after is tied to the town, can she stay? Does she really want to?
I loved how this novel took the romance trope to another level. It’s clean, refreshing and unexpected. 4/5⭐

Great and Precious Things
Great and Precious Things by Rebecca Yarros
This is a wonderful novel! Full of forbidden love, understanding the needs of those you love over your own.

Camden has to overcome his history with the town and finding forgiveness from those he cares about and himself.
This one has an unexpected twist that just makes it that much better! I loved this story! I am a big fan of Rebecca Yarros’ writing! 4/5⭐

The Love Haters
The Love Haters by Katherine Center
Katie is between a rock and a hard place. Her career is teetering as her company downsizes. Her co-worker Cole offers her a project that could save her job and get him out of interacting with his brother Hutch. It's a promotional video about the Coast Guard and his brother is front and center. The catch, it requires swimming skills, which Katie doesn't have, so she fakes it.
When Katie gets to Key West, she finds a bright welcoming community and Aunt Rue. Rue runs everything in town including building a family with her friends and community. She is as colorful as the clothes she wears and she warms everyone's heart with her personality. Sparks fly when Katie meets Hutch and she literally flies when she meets his giant dog, George Bailey.
I loved this story! It has self reflection and teaches some lessons on perspective and self appreciation. Katherine Center amazes me every time! She is truly a gifted storyteller and will always be "must-read" author. I will read everything she writes! This is a beautiful creative love story that will stay with me, it made me laugh and I was with the characters, in the story. The writing is just that good, like you walk right in and just become part of the story - the best kind of book! Of course it has a brilliant dog at the center, I love George Bailey!
To quote Katherine Center, " In the best stories, you're in it. It's happening all around you - and to you." That's exactly how i feel about books. That's why Katherine Center is an excellent author. Read this one and don't skip the author's note, it's phenomenal too!
I would like to thank NetGalley for the wonderful opportunity to review an ARC of this book. 5+/5⭐

Elizabeth's Mountain
This was a really compelling love story. It goes beyond the love of a romantic relationship and includes the love of family, grandmother and granddaughter.
“Beth” turns 90 with her whole family there at her Asheville home. Her granddaughter Amanda lives with her after a heartbreaking divorce.
Amanda meets Jesse at a medical malpractice convention in Nashville, he’s an attorney.
As the story develops, Beth tells her love story from the 1950s with Joe. Joe was a surgeon in the Korean war and they met in the hospital after Beth was in a bad bus accident.
The two intertwined love stories take place in a dual timeline as Beth reminisces while Amanda is finding a new path in life. It showcases the beautiful relationship between Amanda and her grandma.
I just loved the writing, it immediately engages the reader and brings them into the story. I felt the heartbreak and the highs of falling in love. This is just a wonderfully told love story. 5/5⭐

The Seven Year Slip
The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
He calls her “Lemon” and I love it! What a great book!
Clementine West, a book publicist learned to imagine life with a bit of wonder, thanks to her Aunt Analea. When her aunt dies, Clementine burrows into her job and keeps her head and heart guarded against romance and love. Her aunt left Clementine her apartment, a gem and a wrinkle in time.
Clementine moves in and finds a handsome stranger standing in the kitchen. He was a vision, with those eyes and a sleek southern drawl, she was reeled in. The problem, she exists seven years in his future.
Her aunt told her, “In love, timing is everything.” Clementine isn’t sure if she is seven years too late to find true love.
You have to experience her career turmoil and her friends to enjoy this journey with Clementine. I loved it! I just walked right into the story on the first page and I was hooked!
A love story where books are the background is just awesome! This was a cute Rom-com fantasy – time travel, romance, and books, who could ask for more? 5/5

Yours Truly
yours Truly by Abby Jimenez
Briana Ortiz has a lot on her plate, a divorce in progress, a brother that is running out of time, and a big promotion hanging in the air. Jacob Maddox arrived on the scene and quickly became a thorn in Briana's side with a misunderstanding and a bad first impression.
Determined to right a wrong, Jacob writes a letter that changes everything. It was a great letter, one that made a lasting impression and demanded a response in gesture alone. The letter took Briana's breath away. Suddenly the two were ER pen pals. Sparks fly and Jacob becomes a hero when he calls in a favor.
This was a warm and funny story with compelling elements of loss and joy. It was just comforting to be in the story as I was reading it. The humor was wonderful and I just loved the characters. I cried, I laughed and that made the experience of this book wonderful. I love a book that makes me feel and laugh. Excellent book! 4/5⭐

Just For the Summer
Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez
This story was so good!
Two people meet because of a Reddit post. Justin is convinced that he has a curse, every woman that he dates finds her true love when they break up. Emma thinks her dating dilemma is similar, so they plan to break their curse.
Sparks fly with their long distance friendship via phone calls. Emma is a traveling nurse and her friend insists that Justin is perfect. They apply and get work at a hospital in Minnesota. A planned summer fling fails when Emma’s toxic mother shows up and Justin has to take custody of his minor siblings. They get way more than anticipated, including real feelings for each other.
I really enjoyed the character of Justin, he was a gentleman. This was a great story of finding one’s self and overcoming obstacles.
I think the demonstration of self-healing as a priority to dealing with trauma exhibits a real-life situational need. This story made me frustrated at times with Emma and her relationship with her mother. I loved this book! I will definitely read more by Abby Jimenez! 4.5/5⭐️

Happy Place
Happy Place by Emily Henry
I enjoyed this saucy romance!
A group of friends reunite to rescue their flailing relationships. Over a decade they have all moved on in different directions and drifted apart, usually gathering at this Maine cabin to recharge and catch up. Sabrina feels that she makes all the effort in keeping them together so she plans one last gathering since her father is selling their “happy” gathering place.
Harriet and Wyn drifted apart and refused to share their break up with the group of friends. They’ve been the perfect match since college, until they weren’t. They end up sharing a room with gritted teeth to save their friends from sharing their heartache. The biggest lie is the one they share with each other because they can’t put aside how much they still want to be together.
I loved this one! Emily Henry did not disappoint. It was full of heart torn emotion and love. The characters were brilliantly developed and the story was relatable. It was very saucy, more so than what I would normally read but the story was really good. 4/5⭐️

Part of Your World
Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez
This was a good one, my first book by this author.
After Daniel Grant rescues Alexis’ car from a ditch, they meet again at the local VFW. In jest, Alexis joins a wild bet and goes home with Daniel. She is charmed with a baby goat in pajamas, the best gourmet grilled cheese sandwich she’s ever had and some alluring chemistry.
The chemistry is explosive and they find themselves in a long distance relationship. The problem, their worlds are so different they can’t fit in either. She comes from a world of wealthy doctors and parents that live in their own world with ridiculous expectations. He lives in a small town that needs him to exist. Their worlds are set on a collision course. Alexis is wrecked because she can’t deny the joy she is filled with by Daniel, something she has never experienced.
Once their worlds collided, she has to decide if she can walk away from one or the other.
Although there was some spice in this one, I found myself experiencing everything with Alexis and Daniel. I laughed out loud and got frustrated with some situations right along with the characters. The story was heart wrenching and joyful at the same time. I loved Hunter, Daniel’s rescue dog, he stole the show on more than one occasion causing me to laugh out loud! I really enjoyed this book! 4/5⭐️

Reach For the Stars
Reach for the Stars by Maxine Morrey
This was a great story from beginning to end!
Felicity drowns her sorrow in a dramatic way after witnessing her ex and his new wife on the glossy spread of a magazine. She ends up in a whole new life when she home shops drunk and buys her way into a dilapidated farmhouse site unseen. She also manages to lose her job and close on her own apartment in the span of a drunken stupor. Then her DIY farmhouse crushes her spirit when a tree crushes the roof of the house and her car during a storm.
“Flissy” has trust issues and has a hard time accepting any help, especially from the gorgeous neighbor she keeps running into.
This one was terrific! I was laughing out loud in the first chapter! While there were serious parts and moments that evoked all the feelings that you look for in a romance, this one was also fun to read. It had a beautiful story of self discovery, finding love, and was full of personal growth. Jesse’s dog, Ned stole the show too!
I enjoyed the character building and the friendships found in a small town, both really allowed the reader to connect with the story. The book was a wonderfully written story of finding one’s purpose and place. 4/5⭐️

Without giving too much away, this is a heart wrenching love story. It has all the things, found family, foster care, family disconnect, addiction, but most of all - profound love! If you want a love story that you can connect with and relate real life with, this is your next read! I loved this one! 4.5/5⭐️
Disclaimer, in my opinion, although part of a series, this one works great as a stand alone.

Beach Read
Beach Read by Emily Henry
This is a fun romance full of wonderful characters and an interesting plot.
January Andrews, a best selling romance writer has hit rock bottom with writing and finance. She has landed at her father’s beach house for the summer, next door to an acclaimed literary fiction author, Augustus Everett.
They don’t hit it off right away as neighbors, but eventually they strike a deal for inspiration. They concoct a writing challenge where they essentially switch genres to end their writing slump.
The two proceed to teach their trade secrets with weekend outings worthy of any Rom-com or a death cult novel. The deal is that they will both complete a novel and no one will fall in love.
In their adventure they learn a lot about one another and who they are, this was a cute romance with lots of feelings and very saucy. 4/5⭐️

Book Lovers
Book Lovers by Emily Henry
This is a cute Rom-Com with sarcasm, career adversaries, and a loaded family story! Bonus - they all love books!
In this story you meet Nora Stephens, a book agent that gets the job done. Notoriously a cut throat, she meets her match with Charlie, a seriously dreamy book editor.
Nora’s sister, Libby, convinces her to go on a month long “sisters” trip to a small town in North Carolina. Once there, they create a “must-do” list of activities. Charlie just happens to be there because it’s his hometown.
At first, they clash like they have every other time they have encountered one another. It’s not the love story that Libby had envisioned for her sister, but with her own secrets, she’s not paying close attention. There’s a book store at the center of this vacation, and a lot of characters that love books!
This was an awesome story! I really enjoyed the sassy characters, sarcasm, love of books, and the complicated sister relationship that provided lots of drama. It is a little saucy and not your typical love story! Loved it! 4.5/5⭐️

The Rom-Commers
The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center
Phenomenal book! I love a book where you are “with” the main character. You laugh with them, cry with them, you experience the story with them! This one had all the things - I cried, I laughed, and I got angry.
In this book you meet Emma Wheeler, an aspiring writer. She loves romantic comedies but she has put her career on hold to be her father’s sole care giver. One day she gets an opportunity to work with someone she admires. Her long time friend offers her the opportunity to work with Charlie Yates, the dream of a lifetime. Perfect timing allows her sister to step in and care for her father. Emma goes to LA for six weeks. Her job is to salvage a screenplay and in the process, teach Charlie how to feel things again.
I loved how this book carried me through with all of Emma’s feelings, I was with her and I loved it! If a book can make you laugh and cry, read it. 5/5⭐️s

Summer Romance
Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan
What can I say? I loved this book. It was just a great book. It had romance, wit, charm, and dogs!
Ali Morris has a career of organizing other people’s lives, her own, however, is a hot mess. Still grieving the loss of her mother, she faces a somewhat amicable divorce head on.
The day she takes the ring off, and puts on real clothes, she meets a nice man. He looks at her in a way that makes her feel seen, an instant connection. They start a summer romance and find so much more. 4.5/5⭐️
I took off 1/2 a star because the dogs that were such an integral part of their lives seem to be forgotten to the last few chapters of the book. Overall, this was a phenomenal book.

love, unscripted
Love, Unscripted by Denise Hunter
As a result of a bad romance, Chloe Anderson scripted her perfect boyfriend in the pages of her best selling novel. The book was so well received that it goes straight to the Hollywood big screen. Chloe is unhappy with the casting of bad-boy Liam Hamilton, to play the wholesome perfect man of her dreams. His reputation proceeds him.
The producer concocts a scheme of fake romance between the two to boost Liam's image. They play the role well until sparks fly.
I really enjoyed this novel. It was endearing with some drama and set at the beach. You can't ask for more in a book than a good story, with a bookshop and the beach included! 4/5⭐s

The Last Letter
The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros
WOW!
Let's talk about this one.
The pen is mighty when an author can evoke this much feeling in the reader. Rebecca Yarros' writing has depth and connects instantly with the reader.
The characters: Beckett is my hero! How can one man come from so much pain and sorrow only to embrace the hurt from others and comfort them while still standing? Not perfect, but honorable, dependable and loyal.
Ella, a single mom with twins, walks a path of challenges. She's been hurt, she's lost with grief, trust isn't easy but she still shows up and gets the job done. She's passionate, courageous. not without fault but she loves like a warrior mom.
Havoc- the dog my dreams are filled with. She is smart, loyal, and intuitive. She is the leader of the pack and the pack is her human family. A soldier in war and at home.
I was so engrossed in this story, I felt their pain and joy. I was struggling with them and soaring in their happiness. There is some spice in this one but it is well placed and doesn't detract from the story, it fits the narrative, well done.
The best part of any story is when there is an awesome dog at the heart of it, and this book brings it. As a mother, I cried with Ella and I fell in love with her kids.
I won't go into plot details because I just want to say that this book set the bar high for my reading expectations. As an avid reader and reviewer, I read a lot! This book gave me a reading hangover, I took my time reading it because I was afraid of it ending, my instincts were right, I can't read anything else today. It really was that awesome.
Please read this one with caution, it will steal your heart and make you cry, it's a beautiful story! 5/5

The Reality of Everything
The Reality of Everything by Rebecca Yarros
This is such a great story!
Morgan Bartley is starting over. Two years ago, the man she loved was killed in Afghanistan. She bough a fixer-upper beach house in the Outer Banks, hoping the renovation would provide a needed distraction to her grief.
Jackson Montgomery, a single dad and handsome distraction, lives next door. He has a charming five-year-old and a career in search and rescue.
She’s stubborn as hell and he sees her as a damsel in distress.
She swore she wouldn’t fall for another pilot and the dog tags she carries indicate a past that will dilute any chemistry they may have going on. She’s heartbroken and trying to find a road to recovery and he’s a wreck in the making. When a coming storm threatens everything, they have to weather their own storm.
Although I jumped in this series without reading the previous volumes, I was able to enjoy it without them. It is fine as a stand-alone novel.
I really enjoyed this one! It took me a little bit to get into it, but I was hooked and it was a wonderful love story! I love The Outerbanks and this book lets you visit from anywhere! It has wonderful characters, and interesting pets! Morgan is so fierce and vulnerable at the same time, you won’t’ forget her. 4.5/5⭐
