The Reality of Everything by Rebecca Yarros
This is such a great story!
Morgan Bartley is starting over. Two years ago, the man she loved was killed in Afghanistan. She bough a fixer-upper beach house in the Outer Banks, hoping the renovation would provide a needed distraction to her grief.
Jackson Montgomery, a single dad and handsome distraction, lives next door. He has a charming five-year-old and a career in search and rescue.
She’s stubborn as hell and he sees her as a damsel in distress.
She swore she wouldn’t fall for another pilot and the dog tags she carries indicate a past that will dilute any chemistry they may have going on. She’s heartbroken and trying to find a road to recovery and he’s a wreck in the making. When a coming storm threatens everything, they have to weather their own storm.
Although I jumped in this series without reading the previous volumes, I was able to enjoy it without them. It is fine as a stand-alone novel.
I really enjoyed this one! It took me a little bit to get into it, but I was hooked and it was a wonderful love story! I love The Outerbanks and this book lets you visit from anywhere! It has wonderful characters, and interesting pets! Morgan is so fierce and vulnerable at the same time, you won’t’ forget her. 4.5/5⭐
